- went to the gas station to get a drink and a pack of smokes
- some guy came up to me asking for spare change, so I gave him a dollar (normally tell panhandlers no but was feeling "generous" lmao)
- he instantly went into the gas station and bought beer (guessing he was saving up)
- i sat on the picnic table to smoke a cig since i don't smoke in my car and can no longer smoke on apartment grounds
- guy came out and sat next to me, so i offered him a cig
- started talking to him cause i was curious
- guy said he was homeless for past 7 months, came from Georgia. he then whipped out his phone (like iPhone 13 Max or some chit, newer than mine) and started showing me images of where he was originally homeless
- said his dad brought him to my city
- he now works at Taco Bell (he had a TB hat on so i believe him)
- while we were talking, 2 cop cars pulled up and started asking him questions (if he was drunk, what was he doing, etc). cops were pretty chill tbh and just told him to not drink in public and he was good (the beer cans he just bought weren't opened yet)
- told me he's been approached by cops like 15 times and one time a cop drew his gun
- he asked me for a ride to his hotel room, but i told him no
- i left shortly after cops left

I've had a more interesting encounter with the homeless simply by pulling up to them at a stop light and them saying hi.

- one was a guy who bowed like an Asian person.
- one was a female who sounded like a fairy.

I smoked a joint with a homeless guy once. Well I had my own and he had his own. He was nuts. Talking bout how he used to have a job and house and chit but got sick of it, prefers the freedom of being homeless. Said he cruises all over town on his bike everyday collecting tires and scrap metal and makes about 200 bucks a day bringing it to the scrappers. Talked about how the only thing that made him sad was his dog disappeared a few months ago. Took off one night or some chit, he went out looking for her but never found her. Kinda sad but dude was nuts, crackhead vibes.

Another time I gave a homeless bum a couple bucks and i actually bummed a smoke off him. He was telling me his life story. Alluding to him having shot another man dead over a woman. And how he still has the nightmares from killing the dude. Well he called it "a really, really bad thing". He was also insane. Buddy was chain smoking cigs but ripping the filters off them before he'd smoke em, lol. This guy was a drifter type said he came from out west but also claimed he preferred life in the street and it was more free.
