BREAKING: 52% of Republicans won't vote for Trump if convicted [poll]

In a shocking turn of events where trump has seen a boost post conviction seems republicans are finally starting to show frustration with his baggage.

The two-day Reuters/Ipsos poll, which closed before Trump's late-afternoon court appearance, asked respondents if they would vote for Trump for president next year if he were "convicted of a felony crime by a jury." Among Republicans, 45% said they would not vote for him, more than the 35% who said they would. The rest said they didn't know.

Asked if they would vote for Trump if he were "currently serving time in prison," 52% of Republicans said they would not, compared to 28% who said they would.

I have my doubts about that poll result. Trust in the DOJ and our legal system is running very low with many GOP/conservatives and understandably so.

I'd prefer to see DeSantis as the GOP candidate but my desire for that has little to do with Trump's legal fights with the corrupt DOJ and DAs in leftist Democrat run cities.

5+ months ago, I thought Trump had too much baggage and would be a sure loss if he ran again... but people seemed to be fed up with all this failed indictment copium from the left and now he's gaining steam.

I'm sure the media will paint a Trump 2nd term as the Apocalypse which must be stopped at all costs, though. I expect them to pull out sewer level journalism if he's the GOP candidate.

Yes for republicans that is true

for the random independent and casual voter it's not, no matter how pissed trumpers get realize the average low-info voter isn't in that deep (including many republicans. In what world does someone who didn't vote for trump in 2020 vote different in 2024, it doesn't happen.

The election comes down to more people than those who are outraged on the R/P section of bodybuilding
