Were the Egyptians actually black?

Were the Egyptians actually black? If they were, and most Black Americans identify as Christian/Catholic, do the Jewish population deserve reparations? Since in the Old Testament, the Egyptians enslaved the Hebrews?

Serious question, since I never see this get brought up? Surely this has crossed somebody's mind?

They were beige in ancient Egypt and now they are medium brown.

I know that the current people living in Egypt were not the ones that built the pyramids. The current people migrated there many years after. I can’t remember any of the details, but it’s one reason why they have on respect for them. I’ve heard they treat them like chit. Garbage laying around, constant vandalism…
