Well, in my school (NYC), many ELA teachers don't want to teach Shakespeare because they claim it is too "Euro-centric", pro colonialism/imperialism, and has no relevance or cultural connection to minority students. They want to replace it with minority/LGBTQ+ literature.

The point is the existence of these dumbchit state laws in the first place leading some counties to take steps like this out of legal fear of compliance. This wouldn't be the first one in the past month to either remove similar works of literature or choose to only teach select excerpts, or exclusion of kids books or psychology books or many others. Why should any school anywhere be worried about legal action for teaching f*cking Shakespeare?

That being said...


Shakespeare should've been banned from normal schooling hundreds of years ago. His plays were riddled with degeneracy, and people playing reverse gender roles.
