Yeah seriously. Also, a reminder to ourselves that we are all going to age too. Seems like there just isn't enough time.

Oh wow, yeah that is sad AF. Crazy how his situation is now compared to being a Mr. Olympia winner for multiple times.

I was reading how he had a herniated disk or some ****. Definitely not a good idea to be squatting that much weight!

How many 50+ gymcels are still lifting like teenagers? Natty or not, pro or amateur, they all seem like a series of injuries.

I guess Big Ron can at least take solace in knowing he doesn't have to think "what if" like the rest of us. He went for it and made it, even if the price on the back end is a wheelchair. He escaped the wage cage and set his whole family up for success.

I don't know how anyone can be surprised that ol' Ronnie Coleman is broken down at this point. Go look at the man's old leg workout videos from 15 - 20 years ago (and he worked out like that throughout the 1990's, too), and it's not hard to tell why he would end up with back/hip/knee/joint issues.

Always gotta love his attitude about it, though. Dude is upbeat about it enough. He knows he did it to himself, but he achieved his dream so it was all worth it to him. He's also still charaismatic and funny to this day.

Damage caused by lifting. Quite a few wrestlers have had to have them done in their forties. Look at Andy Murray & one of the Bryan Brothers-having to get a hip replacement & then hip resurfacing done in their thirties.

here's a quote from him
“I don’t know if [walking without crutches] will ever happen because I’ve had too much damage done to my body from all these surgeries. A lot of it has to do with the way the surgeon performed the surgery; and the surgeon that I’ve had the last three surgeries has been really bad and caused a lot of damage to my body. So I don’t know if I’ll be able to walk, but I’m gonna give it my best shot. But I think if that surgeon had to perform these surgeries right then I would have been walking a long, long time ago….Just the way [the surgeon] did everything and performed everything it was like he was kind of doing these surgeries to make money, ’cause every surgery I’ve had done was like $300,000 to $500,000. The last three surgeries I had I spent almost $2 million dollars.”
sure he had injuries from the lifting but it was more so the botched surgeries which he didn't probably even need

Dude there are regular, reasonably fit people in their 40's who need hip replacements without doing any of the crazy heavy/intense lifting Ronnie did for decades.
