How would you deal with a co-worker you find annoying?

Idk, the dude just annoys me for some reason. He's some little short dude that has a really loud mouth but always wants to talk to me for some reason.
He's the kinda dude that is smiley to your face and will ask a question about you to get convo rolling but has a big fragile ego and just wants to go on about himself or make himself feel smarter.. The kind that is nice to your face but you just know they are probably talkin smack when you're not around.
