Breaking news: States with major metro areas are more expensive than states without them!
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

But would you guess Illinois would be ranked as so much cheaper than TX?

Thought the grocery thing was interesting too. I knew from when I lived in MI that groceries were less expensive there than TX, but wouldn't have guessed the two states were ranked 1 and 2 for cheapest groceries.

I've been looking at SD a lot lately, specifically Sioux Falls. Rent is about 25-30% cheaper and the jobs in my field pay better. But damn it's 1,200 miles awayWe'll see

I feel like Oregon and maybe Washington would be a bit lower on the list (less expensive) if gas prices in the region weren't so gosh darn high. I still pay almost $6/gallon for no-ethanol premium.

just had a thought: this may be their plan to get white people to move to the midwest flyover states, knowing we will go there and build those places up and in no time flat "the rest" will come and join in the prosperity we have achieved. Then the downslope of multiculturalism kicks into gear in those states.

Texas and Florida running up the ranks as being expensive AF to live in. Whole country is getting expensive now. It's a damn shame.

Blue states: high cost, high tax, highly regulated and bureaucratic, for example prices spike everywhere Californians invade with their politics.

New York is only expensive because of NYC.

Most of the Upstate cities are probably as affordable as the Carolinas or Pennsylvania.

Interesting but not very surprising.

Although Miami is significantly more expensive than every other big city in the US, including LA and NYC.

I'm super doubtful that Illinois isn't in the top 10 to 15 most expensive

Isn't that strange?

My brother stopped by with a friend yesterday and I brought up this list. His friend said Illinois is a gorgeous state. Except Chicago.

I think of it as being expensive too, but could be that is also a Chicago thing.
