No. They may help reduce soreness and muscle inflammation, but trying to reduce soreness and muscle inflammation is killing your gains.

I took nothing but cold showers twice a day for an entire year.
it was more for the mental challenge than anything.
I cant say that I got any benefit out of it other than I built up a tolerance for colder water. Also when I went back to hot ones I took a long time to add a lot of hot water as it was just too hot.

Yes but if you have access a sauna is a better choice.
