Ameribrahs how wood you fix the cost of living crisis?

https://thehill.com/business/3927620...-expenses/amp/

$100k per year now not considered enough for average households.

Cost of living prices continuing to rise and wages not being increased to match them, more and more families fall below the poverty line.

A rapid increase in wages and wood cause inflation to rise and cause prices of food wood rise even more.

How wood you tackle this issue?

Make it illegal for companies like black rock to buy up all single family homes first of all.

2nd of all I wouldn’t have printed a ****load of cash to make inflation high as ****

3rd I would lower taxes on everyone except billionaires and reduce the amount of fking waste our pathetic government generates

A lot of the recent inflation was artificial and unnecessary

in order to fix it we must end corporate greed and the federal reserve

Drastically cut entitlements
End military intervention abroad

This will allow you to:

Cut taxes on middle class
Develop infrastructure

…While still having a budget surplus.

The tax cut which will be BIGLY would put more money in people’s pockets. The infrastructure plan, while being much needed, would also create mad jobs and expand the entire economy. More people would be spending/saving, more people would be employed, the cut to entitlements would create an incentive for people to work with jobs created due to infrastructure plan, and country would be saving massive amounts of money by reducing defense expenditure.

We wouldn’t hang people out to dry with entitlement cuts, we would just reform them to actually make sense. Unfortunately some leeches would have to hop off the gravy train. People with legit disability or medical issues would still be covered but it would be revamped.

I should be President

Actually this would either require me being a dictator or result in me being assassinated because you can’t cut entitlements and get elected, nor can you alter our interventionist foreign policy and still live.

Pretty easy but no politician (even AOC) will do it:

- increase taxes on rich
- aggressive excise taxes for excessive gaps between worker wages and executive compensation

Kill all the homeless and send back all non working illegals, close the border.

Seize all Jewish assets, fire up the ovens and redistribute funds to non Jewish Americans

Dismantle/destroy black rock and similar companies, seize all assets, sell at pre 2018 costs.

Cut off aid to Israel and Ukraine.

Remove all globalists by any means necessary from US government.

Yeah but the taxes can’t be income based, they’ll just set their salaries to a nominal fee and then be compensated through capital gains.

implement UBI but u only qualify IF:
- u fall under a certain determined salary amount/yr
- u have to be holding down a full time job
- u can’t be an illegal

Let’s say maybe UBI could be like 1K/mo… no leeches or lazy ppl will qualify and ur helping out ppl who ACTUALLY are trying to help themselves already AND who are actual legal, CONTRIBUTING citizens of our country

An extra band/mo could def help for sure

Chit, look how much money we’ve already wasted giving to Ukraine and other BS instead of making our own damn ppl a priority

Not American but i've wondered if limiting the amount of profit companies could make would work. Like a "Fair price" law, so you could only make up to a certain reasonable percent of profit to stop companies that have monopolies to take the piss. Profit on items, not overall profit - Like you sell electric, it costs you $1 per unit, you can't go and sell it for $100 per unit because consumers don't have any other choice and have to pay it.

Ppl that are making 100K+ and struggling are just retarded

I’m a single dad with full custody and could EASILY make it on that, hell even less tbh… but instead make like 34K but I live in a low cost area here in the south too so that helps even tho I’m basically paycheck to paycheck

But fr, 6 figure ppl either need to move to a lower cost of living area or cut costs and stop living above their means. Especially if y’all are only having to support yourselves and ur still broke on that much? LOL

A lot of ppl are just unwilling to do things that they know they could/should do

You would have to force morality on everyone to eliminate greed. Do you really think when the government passes a trillion dollar spending bill that the full amount gets spent on the intended purposes? Maybe half of it does and the other half gets pocketed by corporations and politicians via corporate donors.

I worked on high level budget management in DC for a number of years, I've seen billions of dollars vanish due to accounting errors or simply because nobody kept track of it. Congress doesn't penalize the agencies they just give them more money which in turn vanishes just as quickly.

You also have corporations that milk consumers for every penny with hidden fees which are made legal or even mandatory by congress since they are given campaign donations to do so.

I mean, maybe there could be an alternate way around it without hurting the middle class?

I dunno, I mean I’m not against contributing towards helping ppl that are trying to help themselves is all I’m saying…

What if we replaced the middle class with illegals for tax burden?

Amnesty as it is except they live as indentured servants and give citizens UBI from taxes.

Spoiler!
Also take the oil.

this income is still taxed. Usually some stock is immediately sold to pay the taxes, but it's still considered income when the stock is granted(usually quarterly on multi year vesting schedule). Years later the stock remaining if sold only the gains are taxed at 20%. The fact that this is not taxed as income is a myth

Just make companies with over 150 employees pick up the tax burden for all businesses under 30 employees and leave the mid sized (30-150) alone.

Would end up doing the same thing.

If I was the government I would mandate a nationwide moratorium on zoning/nimby laws and subsidize new buildings. The construction industry would have a major boom for like 15 years building millions of new houses and apartment complexes. Make restrictions for who could buy them and how many they could buy, i.e. black rock and private investors would not be allowed to buy up these houses and turn them into rental properties.

This is exactly what happened post-WW2 and why baby boomers largely had home-owning parents. Those parents then very often used the equity of their subsidized homes to help their boomer children buy homes themselves.

They need to tax people who take stocks as compensation just as if it was income. That is how the super rich don't pay taxes and show no income. Could also tax unrealized capital gains on amounts over some ridiculously high number for those same people that are never going to sell and just use their portfolios to leverage other money. Thats a slippery slope though.

Cut the ridiculous spending down significantly. That should be easy.

use those proceeds to discount payroll taxes for everyone.

but no, they'll just add more government to fight the problem.

There is no fix, you'd have to go back in time.

This is the result of shutting down the world for a flu, and the trillion dollar bailouts.

I’d ban institutional ownership of homes. I’d make them reduce their inventory slowly to not flatten the market, but to be out completely within 5 years and never do it again

The proper answer here is to eliminate zoning laws that restrict density. But this isn't politically desireable for NIMBY types.

If there were cheap 800sq/ft apartments all over the place, nobody would have trouble paying rent.
