I guess? It is pulled pork, avocado, pickled onions, jalapenos, cilantro, with salsa verde on the side.

I pour the salsa over the top and bite into it. It was one of those burritos that seems a bit small, but settles like a brick. That was a lot of pork heh.

Yeah I have been to a place here called 'dos toros' before and at least they ask - but I don't get the point of having the tortilla, AND rice, AND beans...etc. I mean yes, I guess if I was in Mexico or the south I'd get one of those traditional ones with beans/cheese, but even they are much smaller than those 5lb monstrosity carb bombs lol.

Mexicano carnitas burro would have diced avocado (or guac), white onion & cilantro, & diced tomato IN the burro. That's pretty much it. NO lettuce. Rojo or Verde salsa on the side.

It should also be wrapped in paper or foil.

The more fancy mex places do lightly grill their burros.

So the only difference is that this one had pickled onions, and no diced tomato? The salsa verde is on the side. I agree with you it's a kind of 'white' version.

If NYC had truly great BBQ I'd head there and get 5lbs of pulled pork on my way home srs.

On the whole 'wrapping' thing, I was sitting down - and this bodega thing where the chopped cheese 'has to be cut in half in wrapped foil' just seems wasteful to me tbh.

And we drove down to 29 Palms for Joshua Tree after too.
