If you aren’t interested in what you’re studying you’re probably just wasting your time

Find something you want, set a goal, and go get it. Your goal, your family, and a few friends is all that matters

Motivation is a short lived dopamine hit. Discipline is what makes champions

I'm past the stage of studying for exams (PhD), but I still need to find the motivation to do work polishing the thesis, working on an article etc.

I find just thinking about the life of, or a five minute conversation with, the average low IQ tradie or wagecel to be adequate. Do you want to be like that? Be sad and hate your work, a vocation that requires no critical thought, leaves you unfulfilled and joyless, and struggling to save up any money.

Never call these people useless. They are mightily useful: The failures can be used to motivate those who will succeed.

I got back from Scandinavia, invited there to speak at a conference. Once I touched European soil I could never imagine being a wagecel stuck in a career I hated. Nope, I knew then my hard work and commitment is paying off.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.
