My dad has plenty of money, when I was 19 he told me he was going to spend his money because it was his and whatever was left would go to my sisters, because they are women and I'm a man.
It certainly helped shape the framework I look at the world in.
I mentioned it to him a couple years ago because I have my own kids now, he replied "Boy I was an ass hole wasn't I."

IMO parents should try to leave their kids better off than they were if they can. But there's a lot of bad parents out there who shouldn't have had kids in the first place.

Instilling good values > leaving an inheritance.
That being said, both are important. If you are unable to pass down anything to your children, you have semi-failed as a parent. Generational wealth is important especially as the middle class gets eliminated.

My parents worked hard, saved all their lives, and are enjoying going on vacations and buying some nice things to help them enjoy their retirement. Are my two brothers and I sitting here saying we wish dad and mom would leave it to us instead? Nope. All three of us work hard, have good jobs, and don't need or expect anything from our parents. If there is something left for us, great, but my parents deserve every bit of enjoyment they can get out of the time they have left with what they worked so hard to build.

I have a sneaking suspicion that my dad will end up leaving me an absolute fuk ton of money..... Money I don't need or have any pressing use for.
Either that, or he has some secret gambling addiction that he has blown millions on.

The true moggers are those with generational wealth. Nobody gives a chit it you came from nothing, money is money. No chit Im gonna set my kids up with everything. Every generation is supposed to have it easier than the one before, thats the point of life

I would imagine it would also depend on if the CURS are DESERVING? Have they been RESPECTFUL to those who would leave them Inheritance?
