Anyone else get really sick this month or over the summer?

I know that illnesses like strep throat, conjunctivitis, and chest colds were spreading like crazy in these parts over the summer. I was generally able to skirt around these but a week of high stress and reduced sleep and some virus hit me acutely and suddenly. It started 2 days ago and feels a bit better now but it was surprisingly intense. Severe flu-like symptoms, migraine, aches, chills and fever, weakness, fatigue. The nights were the worst. I'd sleep maybe 9pm-12am and then toss and turn till I'd give up at 5am.

Just wondering if anyone else here has experienced any sudden cold-like illnesses this August? It's been a really long time since I've been this affected by a bug. The thought that keeps recurring to me is that I really don't have time to deal with this nonsense (lol).

Hope everyone here is keeping healthy. I miss lifting, though.

I have been on antibiotic and all kindssss of medication for the last week. I hate the increased body temperature the most out of all symptoms.

Yeah pretty sure some mild Covid swept through everywhere.

Seemed to hit certain people extra hard, would blame immune systems that cheated themselves with a vax and now are getting crap reactions to a mutation, instead of natural immunity but that’s all just a hunch that’s reinforced by confirmation bias that I’ve been of the opinion that would occur since they very first rolled out the vax. So who knows. Well I will eventually when y’all are done with the long term trials I guess.

On antibiotic right now

Started with a swollen eye, then ear infection and now my left lymph node swelled up to the size of a baseball

Its subsiding but it was very random, allot of people I know are sick with infections or something similar right now, never really seen anything like this

I got really sick with what I think was a sinus infection, although it didn't last long enough to require antibiotics. My family had Covid so I thought I had it but I kept testing negative.

It was weird because I hadn't had anything since March, and I typically get a cold every other month.

I lost 2-3 weeks of exercise.

Get better OP!

Ok so it seems others experienced something similar. I'll agree with the above statements that summer seems to have just flown by this year and that the increase in body temp and fever are the most irritating. This time around, the migraine was more intense than I ever remember. I had some of those rapid covid tests in the house so I took one for schits and giggles and it was negative. I was trying to deduce what it might be. I've been occasionally hacking up garbage from my lungs so perhaps bronchitis or pneumonia or something, which I've never had. Maybe the flu? So weird to get something like this in August.

Eye infections were really bad here this summer. My wife got it so bad we had to go to the clinic where she got prescribed this antibacterial cream to stick in her eye, which I couldn't watch. Stuff going in eyes is gross.

Had brutal sweating last night, ended up getting naked and going back to bed. Took four ibuprofen’s this morning with my Zynn and I’m good

My ear hurts though and my left eye is sorta swollen. Gonna plan my funeral now

The night sweats are so irritating. There's little more annoying than not being able to sleep.

Dman I’ve had night sweats and eye infections and rashes and sneezing

I’m basically dying

They’ll find me here in my bed in my hoarding apartment, dead from Covid

“Oh he’s not suffering anymore”

“Wow he brightened the room whenever he went”

“We’re glad he’s dead finally”

They’ll replace me at my job in 5 minutes

The funeral will last a half hour

Then it will be like I never existed except for a few pictures

Damn, that got dark real quick.

Late August is also ragweed season. That schit is the worst.

The wife bought me some of this neocitran tea stuff. Absolutely disgusting. Would literally rather eat kiop's ass than have that again.

Damn did you ever have allergies before or just start getting them?

Damn I’d happily eat Kiop’s ass in fact I’d pay good money to do so

I’ve been taking Cardamom extract which probably doesn’t do anything, in fact with my luck it’s probably hastening my death

Growing up near the Canuck border that schit used to hit me for about a week every August. Thankfully we don't have it here.

Yeah like a month or two ago.

I think it was the new covid strain. I took a few days off work. Had the chills and then coughed for a long time after. had a bunch of phlegm. Also a few people around had similiar sickness but not exact same time as me so not even sure where i got it from.

Just last week was walking past a car and some woman in the car with the window down was coughing up a fuking storm. There has def been something going around last few months.

I had an at home covid test i took that said positive. it was technically expired and those things arent accurate so who knows.

In january i was sick a few days and then like a week later this ****ggot at work got covid and tried to say i gave it to him so I went to CVS and got an official rapid test just to shut him up and prove it wasnt me. I was negative then.

I've always been allergic to ragweed, along with everyone else in my family. End of summers were always so brutal. I used to take allergy pills as a kid around the start of the school year.

It's really humbling in a way because I tend to think that because of my bodybuilding lifestyle made up of intense training, proper sleep, good nutrition, somehow I'm invincible. A few weeks of high stress and impacted sleep, waking up at 3:30-4am and can't fall back asleep, the house of cards has crumbled.

I feel ya man!
I had super high family medical stress( yes that one) for 16 months but i plugged along and kept up with the vitamins and some workouts when i could.
Sleep and eating was fkd so my only variable that i can think of that saved me was vitamins.

I should probably up my vitamin game. I tend to focus on abiding by a really nutrient-dense diet but maybe I could do with some more.

Vitamin C (3,500 daily), Vitamin D (10,000 daily), zinc (30mg daily)....have avoided all colds and viruses that everyone in my family has been getting all summer.

“well it’s not strep”
“…good luck”
Luckily for myself, the intense and acute symptoms lasted for less than 48 hours. The other night, I slept right through for a solid 7-8 hours and woke up feeling fine. The only thing I have now is mild cold symptoms made up of a lightly stuffy nose and an occasional wet cough. I'm glad it didn't persist too long and that I was able to assrape whatever that was in a short amount of time. I have so much to do and don't have time to be incapacitated. It was, as I previously mentioned, humbling, though. It makes me think how I should probably slow down sometimes.
