today i learned more than 50% of population have no inner thoughts

and by that i mean they literally lack the capability to have inner monologues (thinking to yourself)

I believe it. Hell I wonder if that number is too conservative. A lot of people can't be alone without any sort of external stimulation or else they go stir crazy.

What was that one thing where a bunch of people were asked to "imagine an apple" and a lot of people just couldn't do it? That was crazy. Weird bug people should be in a day care blowing spit bubbles the rest of their life

I also learned this not to long ago after asking my step mom if she spoke Russian or English in her head and she said neither.

Wait till you find out that inner monologue is not even "real" thinking. Real thinking is instantaneous and it's more like intuition. You feel it, don't think it. Also it overrides inner monologue so basically you can talk in your head with a "loud" voice and at the same time feel that what you are doing at that moment is stupid.
I trained myself to shut inner monologue and try to listen to my intuition if you wanna call it that way.

Yeah I cant imagine not having an inner dialogue. I've talked to people about it before and have talked to some people who claim not to have it. Like they just see pictures and talk to themselves out loud. I can do both, inner dialogue and see things in my mind.

I've always wondered what would happen if you give lsd to someone with no inner dialogue. I'm guessing it would be the same as giving blind people lsd. People who lost their vision will see colors and fractals and all kinds of stuff common to lsd. But people blind from birth see nothing, just have auditory hallucinations.... So I imagine it wouldn't make any difference because that neuroconnection has never been created, but who knows.

If you'd be comfortable being honest to yourself you could do it too. Most people NEED constant monologue to lie to themselves.
I'll give you an example:

When you argue with someone many times you will kinda FEEL he's right but continue to argue and BELIEVE ( aka talk to yourself ) that you're right.

Granted this doesn't happen over night but once you realise that you have two minds you start to get it. Also this is in no way related to buddhism or hinduism or anything like that.

Sadly it's real. The people who clinically have no inner monologue are schizophrenics. Those are the people you see on occasion vocally talking to themselves while walking down the street.

There are varying degrees of if it mainly induced by SSRI use.
