"What do you think about Furries?"

My daughter hit me with this just as I walked out of the bedroom a few days ago.

She was in the kitchen and I thought she had said "what do you think about curries?". So I replied that I like curries and we could try some curry recipes if she wants.

"No, not curries, Furries."

Um, I think they are kind of weird. Dressing up like animals as a sex kink thing.

"Oh not all Furries are in it for sex stuff. It is mostly like kids who love talking animals [Disney] and like to dress up as them. Like cosplay."

"I have a 17 year old friend who goes to Furry bowling night. He isn't interested in sex at all [Ace]."

I still think adults dressing up like animals is pretty weird.

[thinking to myself that if a 17 year old boy has zero interest in sex there should be some lab work done at least]

"Furries are rich. Fur suits are like $5,000. His mom got him a new fur suit and she has one too. They go to events together."

[shows me a person in a cartoon animal suit...very well done, bright colors, based on some character...closest example I could give is Sonic the Hedgehog]

Yeah, so humans are strange. I kind of get cosplay [dressing up as a favorite character for an event] and I know there are people who prefer to dress in vintage style clothes, and even historical reenactors like the civil war reenactors, though I believe that has mostly died out.

Spending $10K for dress up sounds bonkers to me.And I don't know if I can adequately describe the sense or unreality experienced starting out in the US in the 70's and taking this ride up to now. But if you have been here a while to maybe you get it.

I find furries really weird. Not as much as trans people or bronies, but they're up there.

However yes they are usually very rich or have a lot of disposable income, they post with very expensive cars and guns lol.

Nope. This is a full coverage costume like the characters at Disney or in a parade maybe.

Says their fursuits [TIL it is all one word] start at $5,200.

I always thought that having wear one of those character suits looked like a very miserable job. Imagine the sweat, lack of air flow, and poorly trained children.

And until this convo I would have never guessed. Though TBH it isn't something I thought much about at all.

Are you referring to the dog mask people that often appear at Pride events?

My kids haven't talked about knowing any furries, but they know enough about it to express dislike for them. Apparently that stuff is all over social media, YouTube, and Tiktok, and regardless of how I try to keep them away from that stuff, someone will still show them a video I don't approve of on the school bus or at school.

But regarding the quote above, my kids do know a crazy amount of teens that identify as asexual, nonbinary, and gay. It's hard for me to believe there aren't environmental chemicals or something in the water causing it. I couldn't choose to be gay so I have a hard time believing people are freely choosing a lot of non-straight options.

I believe there is a lot of indoctrination going on, but once again I have a hard time believing people can suppress their biology just because some teacher has pride flags in their classroom and tells you being gay is awesome and cool.

They had a "furry" convention downtown around here a couple months ago. Basically a bunch of incels and blue haired freaks trying to be children so they dont have to live in the real world where they are complete failures. Most of them were too broke for the full costume so they just had the ghey tail and ears.

Just by looking at them you can tell they are all future liberals and most certainly reek of BO. Totally pathetic freak show. And naturally not a single one of the girls were cute.

I have a friend who has a daughter in high school. Because one of the kids in her school identifies as a cat, they have a litter box in the girls' bathrooms.

The person doesn't use the litter box, they use a toilet. But because the school doesn't want to discriminate, they have a litter box for them to make them more comfortable in their cat identity.

You can't make this crap up.

They are weird.

Most things like this are.

These types of things attract people who otherwise wouldnt get any attention. The drama geeks and the like. Same with the trans movement. Just another way of attention seeking for ugly losers who normally wouldnt get any.

Think about it. You pretty much have to notice someone in a giant fox costume or the like, you cant act like its normal and you dont see it. So they pretty much force you into giving them attention. They have their faces hidden too so they can assume an alter ego that is basically someone who they are not.

Now compare that to the trans guy dressed up as a female. Not a whole lot of differences except the trans ******* is forcing society to accept them. Crazy thing is, if we all blanket accepted them, they would no longer be special and get any attention which is the whole point in the first place.

If half the people on the train wore panda bear costumes, it wouldnt be that special anymore and people wouldnt want to do it.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

We have that here too. My oldest granddaughter is in middle school and they have litter boxes in the bathrooms for the students that identify as cats.

It's crazy...

Very Strange.

Oldest daughter used to play club volleyball. There was a tourney every year in San Jose and every year it was the same weekend as a Furry Convention at the same time. It was super weird.

They would have a "Furry Parade" and walk around the convention center in a line. And, yes, some of them it's sexual in nature. People on leashes, carry whips, etc.

My kids wouldn't get in the elevator with any of them.
