Sonycels, you aren't used to this, how are you holding up?

A couple of my sonycel friends have already bought boxes, the hype around starfield is insane.

I don't remember the last time xbox had an exclusive that had this much hype around it, the last "big" one I can remember was the last Halo game and that was like "ehhh it's halo I'll survive"

Starfield looks like the must play GOTY, so how you doing sonycels?

Lol look at this guy. MS buys one exclusive that might be good and Xcels who've been taking a beating for the last decade are acting like this is the greatest achievement ever. I can see where it comes from and I'm happy for you but keep in mind that for Sonycels this is just another Tuesday.

As a Sonycel that's going to buy a Xbox, this is true. And REALLY Microsoft better hope Starfield doesn't flop. The backfire on Cyberpunk 2077 was bad, Starfield will be an endless roast for the entire Xbox division. And Xbox only has two good games. Starfield and Stalker 2, after that things look barebones so they'll have to worry about momentum after.

I wish Xbox the best of luck. I'm buying mainly to play Splinter Cell and GTA, a good Starfield is just a bonus

The scope and scale of Starfield is way beyond anything Bethesda can handle while still being a polished, bug-free and high fidelity experience. I can see it being a good game a year from now after countless updates to fix the beta version you'll get at release

Competition is good for the industry and consumers. I really hope after spending $7.5 on Bethesda MS will get a good game out of it. If Starfield does do as well as Boxcels are hoping, it would be their first major AAA blockbuster that isn't a racing game in how many years? A decade at least I believe. Long overdue. Good for poor Boxcels who have themselves stuck in that ecosystem, but even better for the industry as a whole is Sony starts to feel like they have competition.

This. And given "only" 100 out of the 1000 planets have life on them (exception might be that robots/AI exist on some of the other 900 planets but aren't considered life technically), I'm expecting those seeking to explore and complete everything possible will find it rather boring and monotonous. If you just stick to the story you might have the best shot of avoiding both bugs and boredom.

Starfield is going to be a disappointment.

This year has been hit after hit after hit. we're simply due for a dud

they give you an indication of which planets have life and which dont. you dont have to explore at random.

I think they delayed the game last year to put in serious polish, Microsoft aint going to allow their big game to be a mess.

I expect it to be in good shape if nothing else.
