Question for lifters about deadlift bar - incels stay out
I realize none of you gentle souls lift weights so I'm aware that I'm pissing into the wind by addressing this question to you.
However, I ask you this: I understand that deadlift bars have more "whip" and that this is advantageous for the all important booty gainz. As an xx lifter, I don't deadlift a huge amount.
A flex bar is expensive compared to a stiff bar. I'd get it if I thought it could do me some good. Is there a specific amount one has to be able to lift to get good use out of a deadlift bar - or is a deadlift bar useful for those with modest lifting capacity?

all it helps you do is deadlift more weight by cutting your ROM down.
unless you are competing in something I don't think it really brings benefits to the average lifter and it sucks cause deads are really the only thing you want to do with it, it's too easily bent on anything else

Try raising 12 kids in a chicken shack with a dirt floor in puerto rico after your husband leaves you for a younger woman and report back to me on how that feels vs how the young woman shown feels. You may find that the young woman in the picture is about a thousand times happier - especially since her boss can't beat her with a mop handle. My great grand mother shot herself for a reason. You fukks go on about how great brats are, how women are soooo saad due to feminism. Meanwhile I'm jerking off with with beers in the fridge and whiskey in the cupboard thinking about how fukking lucky I am that I don't have to get my throat reamed. you fukkin idiots need a reality check

I’ve hurt myself from deadlift bars in the past, so I’ll always take a stiff bar over a flexible bar. Pulling out the slack, the whip, and just the overall change in bar dynamics through the lift on a deadlift bar only makes sense to me if you pull sumo. I pull conventional, so the stiffer the bar the better. When I want the bar to move, it should move- not just have the slack pulled out first.

It helps once you can rep out more than 315. You can lift more, and I find it easier to break it off the ground. It honestly doesn't change the ROM by much, but it takes out the "deadlift" out of the deadlift, if you know what I mean. Basically, the two hardest parts of the deadlift (for me), is the liftoff, and the top lockout. A bar with whip, I can focus on the lockout as the liftoff is easier.
In all honestly, I don't do DL much anymore. Taxes my CNS where I can't even ride the next day, and I was getting to a weight where chance of injury was getting up there.

I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.

I'm not sure. It's possible you're thinking about this too deeply. I'm not sure it will create a monumental difference. However, I will say this: At my old gym, which was an oldschool bodybuilding gym, they had 2 old barbells and newer, chrome barbells. The older ones were a bit thinner and bendier. I loved those barbells. I would squat 315 with those and they'd flex a bit whereas the newer ones were very static. If that's what you're asking, then I would personally gravitate towards the bendier bar. It just felt so good.

If a person is at a point in their strength training where they have to ask this question, they are nowhere near a point where the DL bar would benefit them.

I don't squat 315 though so I'm thinking they might feel the same.

Just make sure not to squirt out of the wrong hole and paint the yard an unpleasant color.

As covered above, you'll lift more with a whippy deadlift bar, but you won't necessarily be stronger. I don't see a point for it for training strength. I lifted in a gym with a deadlift bar for a while and the one thing I miss the most is the smaller diameter. My current bar is 29mm. I don't know if there is a standard diameter for deadlift bars, but I'm seeing some at 27.5 and some at 27mm. I have decent sized hands but the slightly small diameter made quite a difference holding on to the bar through a deadlift set. For a woman, I'd guess the difference would be even more pronounced, although, if you use straps anyway that difference also doesn't matter.
