How do we wake up Liberals?

I hate Liberals.

But I also think we need to find a way to wake them up so that they can acknowledge how bad things are, and work to fix them.

They hang onto every word the government and media say. How do you break that kind of control?

You're not terribly off base, lots of reasons to hate what the government and media are doing, but we probably disagree over the cause. I think that they're both captured by the rich/corporate interests and most of what the media covers is purposefully crafted to divide us over things that ultimately don't matter.

Actual problem - common people don't really have any power for a variety of reasons -choosing between the pro-corporate party and the pro-corporate party (lite) is not real choice.

Pivot away from Trump's conspiracy cult and back to reality, and there will be a ton of people who abandon the Dems and their increasingly radical agenda. Nobody actually likes Joe Biden or thinks he's a good President, just that Trump and the cult are worse. People really just want normalcy and leadership, and we're getting it from neither party right now.

Depends on which ones. Ones dependent on the public trough you won't wake up. For moderate liberals there's hope. They've been lied to their whole lives about nearly everything, so exposing some the lies creates an avenue of hope. But don't go trying to substitute with neocon crap, it's the same damn thing. Start with the reality that government does nothing well and the reality that they do not have anyone's interests at heart but their own. Trump knows firsthand the pressure that the military industrial complex places on the US president to engage in foreign conflict. From all evidence, they desperately tried to get him involved and he didn’t play ball.

With regard to ukraine, most of that conflict is our own fault. The US helped lead the coup in ukraine back in 2014 which took out a fairly pro-Russia govt to one that is a western proxy. We then encroach on that territory, get military involved over there, become entrenched in their economy and foreign aid, etc. it would be the equivalent of Putin helping Canada lead a coup, inserting a pro-Russia leader, Russia then led military exercises near our border, etc. wtf do you think is going to happen when you poke the bear? I’m against war, but people ignore the US’s role in all of it. If we just left things alone we’d be better off. Our endless wars for decades has accomplished nothing other than bankrupting the US, further destabilized volatile regions, lead to millions of deaths, etc.

The media will always prefer the establishment dnc candidate (over a sanders), but they won’t care much about an establishment RNC republican. Either candidate brings the same overall agenda. A few differences on social issues, but both are fine with Wall Street economics, corrupt intel, weaponized doj, bogus foreign policy, etc.

They only really care about nonestablishment candidates. The ones they don’t control are the threat.

Some nuggets of truth, particularly about big government and huge corporations and welfare vs. corporate welfare. Money in politics is poisonous and it doesn't have to be that way.

Without getting into the whole welfare queens overreaction, government doesn'thaveto do nothing well, competitive pay and benefits, proper funding, good oversight and being generally free from purposeful conservative hamstringing goes a long way in making government agencies work well. Their incentives are way better situated (e.g. whatever their long-term mission goals are) than the private sector (short-term profits) for a broad variety of services, particularly ones that have inelastic demand (utilities, transportation, housing, healthcare, education etc.).

I won't pretend public ownership is perfect, but its almost always preferable for the common person versus what leaving it to private sector eventually leads to.

That’s a little too much false equivalency but it should be painfully clear to everyone that media and politicians are trying to keep us angry and scared. At this particular moment Republicans are leaning more into it as they have -zero- platform and the Fox Newes that follow along as an extension of the party have nothing else to do either.

But truly, most Americans mostly agree about most things. You would never believe it to listen to a second of MSM.
