Just remember, our government brown shirts just sentenced a citizen to 17 years in prison. His actions? Having a conservative ideology and tearing down a fence. Those same brown shirts recently sentenced a violent man who set several random Asian people on fire to zero prison time.

The hypocrisy and BS sentencing has to stop.

People get less then 17 years for murder and rape all the time. They need to revise peoples sentences to reflect that. No more BS plea deals.

The justice system in this county is completely fooked.

The suspect was a veteran? I'm interested to see what his time in looked like.

Sidenote, what I think is most interesting about these cases is,when the suspect re-offends, and they commit new crimes with grievous injuries, no one talks about civilly suing or holding judges criminally accountable for their actions.

Police have qualified immunity, but that only applies when they stick within the confines of the laws and their agency's policies. Judges appear to have complete and total immunity for their decisions. Is there some sort of matrix Judges fill out when deciding on how much time to give? Or is it based completely on "feels".

If crime is ever to be brought to heel, Judges and parole boards need to be held accountable for the actions of criminals for a length of time if they're going to give them light sentences.
