I watched a cop give someone a ticket yesterday

In a very nice part of the city. She was near a park drinking a beer with some friends, chatting.

Cop comes up to write her a ticket. She is like WTF?

I am there thinking about life, and say "Hey, in all honesty don't you have more pressing folks to cite and issues to investigate" and he just looked at me and did a "sigh".

Imagine being 25 years old, and getting a ticket in NYC for having a drink in public.

As if covering it in a brown paper bag doesn't shout "look at me guys I am drinking alcohol!!!"

Tell me brehs: do cops write tickets in your areas if you drink an ice cold one in a park?

If so: SMH.

You can drink openly downtown in the historic district. Otherwise, gotta be in a bag. Never seen anyone get a ticket for drinking openly, but I've also never seen someone drinking openly outside of downtown.

there was an ex cop in Arlington Va years ago that told the truth about quotas, promotions and daily or monthly goals regarding tickets.

the takeaway message was that not hitting your goals as a cop ( money for cities) had negative career consequences.
