Instead of making crappy electric cars why don't they do this?



I don't mean exactly like this, get rid of the stupid crane arm and just embed the electromagnets in the road.

No need to charge anything and you can easily control the flow of traffic. Everyone would be going the same speed.

Cars would just need a little golf cart motor for putting around the parking lots.

Even IC engines could be retrofitted with a big iron bumper and just coast along on the highway grid. It would turn your car into a rail gun.

How would you ensure safe braking so that no one crashes?

How would you install electro magnets into every road?

How would you ensure the magnets can work through a concrete barrier (road)?

How would a golf cart engine sufficiently power a 2-5 ton car to park/reverse?

Just put big magnets in the bumpers of the cars in front so everyone gets pulled along.

That's not a bad idea either, you could even have the cars magnetize to each other like a giant human centipede on the highway.
