E=mc^2
The bomb dropped on Hiroshima weighed about 4.4 tons in total (including all the conventional explosives required to "trigger" the uranium into supercriticality).
There was only around 64kg of actual uranium 235 in there. Of that, only around 1kg of uranium reacted and underwent fission, the rest was immediately blown apart by the fission and explosion of the initial 1kg, and instantly became subcritical and did not react.
So only a kilogram of Uranium underwent fission to produce the bomb that destroyed a whole city.
Fission of Uranium 235 results in around 0.09% of the original mass being converted to energy (the loss in mass between the original nucleus and the resulting fission products).
This means less than a single gram of matter being converted into energy caused a 15 kiloton explosion that leveled a city and killed 80k people.
The more you know.

That is based on our limited engineering and financial resources.
Theoretically, a much smaller amount of matter is capable of producing much much more energy.

But basic E=MC^2 gets you the above boom.

Whereas the most efficient chemical reactions produce about 1 × 10^7 J/kg, nuclear fission 8 × 10^13 J/kg, and nuclear fusion 3 × 10^14 J/kg, the complete annihilation of matter and antimatter, according to Einstein's mass-energy relationship (E = mc 2), yields 9 × 10^16 J/kg.
Our abilities are the limiting factor.Lol at how confident you were with your little nope.
Not even close man.

That is to say in order to get 1g of matter to be converted into energy, you may not need as large of an apparatus to make the boom happen in the first place.
But the amount of megajoules you get when converting X amount of matter into energy is the same, regardless of the fuel, or technology used.
E=MC^2 does not change for different fuels, bro.
