So, just about all current stores in Chicago have closed due to crime and violence, so the dumbass mayor decides to open a big one so anyone brave enough to shop there will be jacked out of their groceries and their cars stolen.

Those parts of Chicago include former storefronts whose windows were boarded up after private chains moved out due to unprofitability, CBS News Chicago reported. Walmart and Aldi were among the stores that left, WGN 9 reported.

Also, why are these businesses leaving??? Illinois isn't a red state. All our leftist posters said that it was red states that were crime ridden ****holes.....

Where I live, the city bought a piece of property in the hood and built a grocery store and solicited proposals from grocery chains to locate there. In about 2 years, 3 different grocers opened and then closed in failure one after the other and now its a vacant building with crackheads living in it.

It appears we are entering the next phase of the socialist takeover. Incentivise low quality immigrants, whose only means of acquiring resources is theft/robbery, to flood cities, who then inevitably rob and pillage businesses in said cities into fleeing, and then when they flee, big daddy government is there to take over. The plan should be obvious to anyone with a > 80 IQ

They shouldn't have federal money available for this because that is federal endorsement of a direct socialist policy outside of our constitution. That is an illegal act.

It would be better if Chicago did more to stop crime so that stores didn't need to close.

Imagine a Chicago owned and run grocery store is going to have many product shortages, and bare shelves.

1 attempt at blaming republicans for wheat/soy/corn subsidies to stabilize prices (would love to get into a long chat about how paying farmers to not grow wheat/corn/soy to control price is one of the largest waste of resources humans participate in)

Everyone, stop even responding to the small minded Canadian. He has no path to logic and I know it's tempting to call him out but it's a diversion.


Anyways lets go back to an adult conversation. Chicago has had a long history of absolutely bad decisions by people with no sense of logic that could not realize the relationship between cause and effect. The trend continues. It's just going to suck for surrounding states when the people front there start flooding other places.
