Anyone else life get ruined by someone

At the start of senior year of college I was perfect. I never made a mistake in my life. I was looking forward to graduating and getting a fulltime job and a hot wife. But the one problem is I had a new roommate from mexico. This guy single handedly ruined my life. He ruined my career and any dating prospects.

Saw a company eat itself alive and self-sabotage for years after hiring just ONE commie. Was crazy to witness.

I was on probation when I was 20 years old, and a counselor who was buddies with my probation officer would come over to my apartment and take my NA card that showed how many meetings I had gone to. He threw them away and told my probation officer that I wasn’t going to meetings. I actually wanted to get my life together and be clean and sober, and he forced me to give up on sobriety.

If he wasn’t in the picture, I would be a lot more successful now.

Not ruined my life. But I had a boss give me a srs setback in my career. Totally undeserved and she didn't really purposefully mean to, I was just collateral damage in a lot of the awful chit she pulled.

Easy to prove, you get the folks holding the meetings to confirm you were attending.

I am of the opinion that everything I did good or bad in life has led me to where I am today.

Had I changed an event or maybe not done something I would not have what I currently have.

Not saying I have the worlds best life but i am very happy with my circumstances.

I have a relative whose whore wife cheated on him with his boss. He lost his wife, family, and job instantly. That f#cked him up for a while.

You’re blaming your whole life on a singular roommate?

Strong sense of control and ownership of your life. Maybe if he sexually assaulted you and murdered your family or something extreme like that the trauma would be life ruining, but if he was just some weirdo who repelled women and made the dorm smell like beans and jalapeños that’s on you.

Yes, if I could go back and re-live my life from age 20 that’s what I would do. I’ve fantasized about going back and doing that, I have plans for how to get my life in track. Hind sight is 20/20

No.

How did your roommate DESTROY your life, OP? Did he kill your parents? Did he put you in a wheelchair? Did he set you on fire while you were sleeping? What did he do?

Nope. Can think of a few who saved it.

It's more what you allow someone to do to you.

You sound like you have NPD "I am perfect, someone else came and ruined me". You made lots of mistakes before that, you just didn't see them or maybe sheltered and was led to believe you never did.

Srs interested in that story. I've heard of it happening before. Esp now with DEI officers being hired.

Not everyone who is in a field such as a counselor has good intentions. Some evil people will actually work themselves into a "help" position so they are in a better place to ruin other people.

Yep, could have turned it around and ruined that person.

I believe in this. For me, I've made mistakes but none of the really horrible one's that some make. Then again I think I've missed some opportunities. Hindsight is 20/20.

Team was hyper-masculine. Argued amongst ourselves to solve problems. Some times people raised their voices, but problems got solved.

ONE wokie came in. Team immediately became hyper-feminine.
Everyone started using pronouns.
Slack server became a bed of eggshells.
Insane amounts of meetings discussing stuff instead of action to finish things.
Months of work thrown out, over and over again.
Clients started to get hesitant, backing out of deals and dropping company.
Work pretty much grinded to a halt.
Main metric of success shifted from completed work to playing grab-ass on company Slack server.
"Good morning!" had more precedent than actually finishing tasks.
More clients began bailing at lack of output.
New wokie constantly demonized white people, Christians, conservatives, and men, saying bigoted things frequently during meetings and in Slack server.
Any time anyone not fully onboard with the weird commie slant would speak up about lack of progress, they would be punished and bullied, even fired.
Any sense of comradery and genuine brotherhood was replaced with fake niceness and manipulative tactics.
No one could trust anyone. Was better to stay silent and watch things implode than it was to try and course-correct.

Company folded about a year or two after that person was hired. Was a few years back. I imagine the same situation playing out over and over again.

What were the details of the other time you heard it happening before?

This was an eye opening post for me. I never knew a woke person could screw things up this badly. I’ve learned as a content creator that being woke can screw things up.
