It will probably bite your arm or your leg so why not just use your other hand to gouge its eyes out while its clinging onto your arm? Seems like the simplest way to **** them up.

You have to have a mental state where you realize your arm/leg isn't just stuck under something, and that screaming and pulling isn't going to stop it. It may hurt like hell but the only way to make it stop is going to be to do what you need to do in order to make it stop. Some people have it in their head it will just make the dog (or even person) fight and hurt them more. Not really, you are in the fight, need to show more fight.

Unless you are fighting one of the giant breeds, you have a weight, size, and intelligence advantage on the dog. I've saw a vid a long time ago where a guy was being attacked by some pit mix and he went into a ditch that was full of water and just held the dog that was on his arm under water drowning it. Stupid dog only knew to hold on. Saw another one where the guy spun around several times with the dog attached to his elbow but then after getting some speed he basically super body slammed the dog on the ground. Some other one's like that, and what it really was is just people thinking instead of panicking.

The way to get the pitbull to let go is to grab it around the neck and sqeeze to cut off it's air supply. The dog will instinctively let go in an attempt to breath. Once it releases it's bite you maintain holding it around the neck and pick it up off the ground. Then start twirling around in a circle as fast as you can and once up to speed you strategically let go at the right time to throw the pitbull in a desired direction (such as over a fence) so it can't come back to attack again.

The method I mentioned above is way better. Srs. It will instantly let go of your arm as soon as you shove your fingers in its eyes.

Just carry a small bladed knife. Preferably fixed blade or at least a gravity opening one.

Blades are handy in many situations. Especially for opening boxes and cutting rope.
I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.
