Why do people over complicate losing weight?

So many stupid myths and methods out there.

It's as simple as calories in - calories out

That's it, that's all you need to know.

None of this meal timing, none of this macros, none of this don't cut on "too few" calories wtf lol.

It's simple, be in a defecit, and how big the defecit is going to mean how quickly you lose weight.

I've had a few times in my life where I've fell off big time and got bloated and bubbly. Every single time I've just calorie counted and got the weight off in the time I predicted it would take based off simple maths.

Right now I have to lose 50lbs due to falling off, I jumped on a defecit at the start of last week and I'm down 7lbs due to a high defecit. At some point my weight loss will stall for several days up to a week, it will be because of water retention, I'll just maintain course and piss out 2kg after a few days.

Same thing every time, it's simple, stop over complicating things and peddling myths.

wrong

your body adapts if you lower calories. yes, you will lose "weight" if you have a huge deficit, but not if it is like 100 a day. and you won't lose jack if you are eating sh*t that keeps your insulin levels high.

and if you have insulin resistance then you need to fix that first. and if you are a fake natty, well then a different set of rules apply.

but losing fat isn't complicated. stick to eating real food - high protein. exercise a little and walk a lot. keep calories high on some days so the body doesn't adapt. and over months you will lose fat.

losing the last 10lbs or so is harder than being a fatass at 280 and losing your first 50.

imagine thinking a calorie deficit is nullified by insulin

strong science

Caloric restriction improves insulin sensitivity, you can do both simultaneously.

I've never worried about any of this ****.

1400 calories a day plus gym 4x a week

Have gone from obese bmi to visable abs within 16 weeks every time, and my weight loss has never slowed down more than marginally towards the tail end of my cut.

There's some other factors in the equation, but at the end of the day controlling your calorie intake is about 90% of the solution.

high levels of insulin means your body will struggle to use fat for energy and burn through whatever is stored as glycogen first, and even LBM. if insulin is already low, it accesses fat stores easier.

like i said, you will lose weight and fat of course if you have a huge deficit and exercise. but if it is like 100/200 a day and insulin is high your body will just adjust and burn less calories.

people wouldn't be struggling so much if it was that "easy". though it is simple if you follow basic rules. you have retards like layne norton saying you can still eat pure junk and it doesnt matter as long as you are in a deficit. so people are just spinning their wheel. yes, i will take advice from a fake natty that was never fat and sells products and programs.

clean food, high protein, move more and wait some weeks and yeah, you lose fat. you don't need HIIT and all the other BS that no one did back in the day to lose fat. it's the so called experts that over complicate it.

and of course, they will say if you are eating donuts, but in a deficit etc and still not losing - well then it is your fault fatty. wrong.

They want to make it seem harder than it actually is so they can preload their failure.

Then they can fail because its just too hard to do or some such nonsense.

My body loves Keto cut, but I do have to monitor my calories.

If your basic calorie intake was 2500cals and you drank 2000cals worth of beer every day and nothing else and no exercise, you're gonna have a dogsh*t physique.

And that is an extreme version of why losing weight is more complicated than calories in vs calories out. Because it's not about WEIGHT phayggut, it's about LOWERED BF%

There's a little bit of nuance to it, nothing that you can make money from though.

Weight = CICO but fullness = stomach volume occupied is a huge one.

Yeah let's take advice from a guy who's 50 lbs overweight.

In reality you're right about it being simple: reduce meal frequency and fast regularly. 24hr fast once a week. 3-5 day fast 4 times per year. Carbs aren't bad, but need to be proportional to your physical activity. Don't eat sugar or inflammatory foods.

All of that will reduce your insulin resistance to the point where it's impossible for you to get fat.

I am no expert either so I am hoping someone can correct me if I am wrong, or elaborate on about what I am about to say.

Your pancreas releases insulin when you eat carbs/sugar in order to break them down into energy for your cells. When you eat too many carbs or sugary food your body releases a chit ton of insulin in order for the body to utilize. If you consistently have too much sugar in your diet your body eventually becomes resistant to the insulin resulting in higher blood sugar which can lead to obesity and high blood sugar.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong because this is a very basic understanding on my part as well.

I watch those DR BERG videos on youtube and he's always blaming insulin resistance, or sleep, or vitamin D, or carbs, or sugar, or fasting, or WHATEVER THE FUK ELSE besides calories in/out...

Like.... Every video he goes through all this chit about specific, complicated chemistry as to why people are fat.... It's like, yeah OK... Or they could just eat less and exercise more lol.

Every person I know who has done keto blames keto for why they lost weight.... It's like.... Well did you track your calories? No? So you were eating a caloric deficit, but didn't know that was what you were doing... b b b b but I also didn't eat a lot when I wasn't doing keto! Ok, so you tracked your calories back then? No? Ok, so you have no idea.

I lost 55 pounds eating 50% of my daily calories from carbs, I followed IIFYM, ate ice cream almost daily. Never "plateaued" (plateauing isn't real).... Just stuck to it for 7 months.
