Storm Warning

Geomagnetic storm that is.

Three different discharges are headed towards earth over the weekend.




They aren't especially large or strong, however estimates say that our protective magnetosphere is at leas 25% weaker than normal at the moment. This is why people have been seeing auroras from weak events unusually far south.




And in addition to an ongoing weakened magnetosphere tomorrow is the autumn equinox. Around the time of an equinox we have a special vulnerability to magnetic solar effects due to how the earth and sun are aligned.




Besides disrupting some communications geomagnetic storms also have known effects on humans- poorer cognition, agitation, lability/more emotional, possibly changes in impulse control/reaction times, and some people report physical issues like increased pain from arthritis. A lot of the sort of things that are often associated with the full moon.

Cliffs:People may be extra touchy and just generally kind of off this weekend.

Think I'm experiencing this. My injured leg hurts all the time but yesterday it was killing me all day and had no idea why. I didn't do anything differently. It's also rainy here this weekend which i'm sure isn't going to help with it.
