UK beer brahs/English beer connoisseurs - enlighten me on brewing an English beer

I just harvested this year's hops I grow on my property and I've been long considering trying my hand at brewing a nice simple British ale, like an extra special bitter (ESB). The crop that came out nice is Centennial hops, which has more of a 'new world' hop profile including a flowery/citrusy aroma and flavor, so it wouldn't be a strict classic ESB per se, but hopefully something unique.

I was wondering if any UK brahs or people who really appreciate and regularly consume English beers could give me some feedback in terms of what they'd be looking for in a nicely crafted English ale. For those of you that understand beer brewing, I was going to keep it more simple in terms of recipe. The majority of my grain would be Marris Otter, which is a base malt from England. I have some aromatic malt left over and I'd love to include that in there. Apart from that, I was going to throw in a bit of English crystal malt. That's basically it for grains. For hops I was going to use a classic British hop like EKG and add my homegrown and currently drying Centennial crop at flame out and a bit in the dry hop just to give it a citrus edge. I'd use an English ale yeast as well.

For my English boyos, what do you value in a nice ale?

Thanks!

For your time......
