Finally got my invite to the AMEX Centurion Black Card

Butt lettuce bee cereal, this card is fuking stoopid. 10k initiation fee, 5k annual fee on top of the initiation fee and it has almost the same benefits as the platinum. Going to put it in the window display part of my wallet and use it in bars and see how many golddigging sloots I can pull based off the card.

Unless your average day to day lifestyle or spending is on a Beverly Hills level then those "women" are going to be very disappointed really quickly. You have to spend $75k per year on it, so everyone who has one is most certainly not fake wealth. But still it's just a waste of money.

This service might have been a lot more useful like 20 years ago, but nowadays it's pretty fuking easy to get things done on your own. If I had this service, I might use it like 2x per year.

I have an AMEX Platinum, and rarely use it.

I go to this college bar sometimes where my buddy is the head bartender, and I'll pull it out when one of the 21 year old naive blonde bartenders is serving me. It's a win-win, because I usually get about half of my bar tab comped by my buddy, and then the hot young hot dumb blonde girl looks at me all starry eyed because I have a silver metal credit card. It's really fuking hilarious if you think about it.

I read the concierge has connections that the typical person doesn't. The review on tpg said the concierge was able to get him off an island after a volcanic eruption

Anyway, "doing it yourself" costs you time and a mogger can't be ****ed bothering with secretarial tasks. When you're making a million a year, you're trying to optimize your time and delegate trivial tasks to wagies. An hour of your time is 1000 and for ****** it's 15... Doing it yourself is a bigger waste of money than the black card at that levels of wealth imo

I'm just saying, technology has eliminated most of the usefulness of the concierge. You push a button on your phone and a taxi shows up 4 minutes later. You order concert tickets in 1 min and walk into a show.

Yeah, they might be able to get you a restaurant reservation that a person calling might not get. But who really cares. If you're willing to throw large sums around in basically any situation, you can make things happen.

True. It depends on what you're doing

I'm planning on visiting Asia this year after visiting Europe earlier.

The booking part is easy.

Figuring out things to do, a good travel itinerary, places to eat is a colossal pain in the ass. And trying to maximize value sucks too... Maybe they save you money because they do research or have exclusive deals

I read about a place called jiro sushi which is arguably the best sushi restaurant in the world. They used to have 3 Michelin stars for like a decade until they made it difficult for the Michelin inspectors to get a reservation. They aren't available for reservation unless you jump through some serious hoops. Concierge could probably book it for you though. If you're a mogger though, you might be flying to 5 or 6 different countries a year.

I can definitely see why some people won't benefit but i could definitely see how the concierge would fit in my life. Though i already have a plat... Maybe i should call them and see what i can get lol
