I will never use Verizon again even if they are the only provider. Baguettes tried scamming me almost 1k saying I didn’t return their equipment when I had the confirmed tracking number. I googled it and there were thousands of other cases. Scamming kunts

Been with Verizon for many years now. I think I'm around $93 a month for unlimited data plan that includes service for my Apple Watch and a free Apple Music sub.

Keep in mind that I do use a military discount so it could be very well over $100 without that.

Your choices are basically to either be on a major network (Verizon, AT&T, or T-mobile are all that's left for major carriers these days) with quality service and pay good money for it, or save money by going with a smaller 3rd party company that piggy backs off of the big carrier's cell towers and deal with the inferior service that comes along with those savings. Look at coverage maps of your area to see what would work best for you.

I've tried the cheap cell phone company thing before, and it sucked. The service is always going to be slower, and it's awful if you're in a big crowd of people (most of whom will have priority service over you by being with a real cell carrier) or anywhere out in the countryside with spotty reception in general. Any customer service needs will involve calls to Indian call centers where they barely know anything about the products or services, but that's a common experience no matter who your carrier is nowadays.

The way to circumvent the high prices while still getting a nice plan with a high end company is to have several different people on the plan who are paying into it. If you're splitting one Verizon account between 6 different people paying into it, then suddenly the plans aren't that expensive anymore. Just be prepared for the fact that switching phones is a royal pita for anyone who isn't the account owner, as they need the real-time remote permission of the account owner to let it happen.





Cliffs:

- Going cheap is ok if you are fine with slower/iffier service in general
- it's pretty bad in the countryside or in crowded areas of people
- you can make a spendier company cheaper by having several paying people on the plan
- there are probably several better ways you could save money more efficiently than worrying about your cell phone bill. Even if you could get it reduced by half down to $90 /mo, you could save that money by eating out 2 or 3 times less often a month.

Been using Ting for years. No real complaints, rarely any issues with service and pay $78 a month for 2 lines and more data than we use.

FirstNet, technically from ATT but it’s an unlimited network for healthcare/first responders. Fast af, non throttled, service everywhere. 50/month srs.

Unlimited everything for $25 or $35 per month, depending on the plan. The $35 is prioritized data so you get higher priority on the network.
