At least the real estate and overall cost of living is very reasonable.

I watch the news daily and the most mesmerizing part of the car break ins in SF is how dumb the tourists are. People leaving 25k worth of camera gear in plain sight in a rental or suitcases in plain sight. Laptops, ipads, etc.

then they get interviewed on TV and they are like hurr durr, we are visiting from TN and we didn't know you couldn't leave expensive things in view. The car was locked.

Some people live their whole lives in small town America that still hasn't been touched by diversity yet. These people aren't programmed to think about locking doors, or being constantly on the look out for criminals because it is foreign to them. Many still live in areas that you can walk around worry free at night and leave your house door unlocked. Then they go into a big city and get a reality check

Just imagine living somewhere where you have to worry about it because it's this bad?

What really bothers me is how there is so much empathy for the theives talking about "it's a poverty problem". These aren't cripples stealing a loaf of bread because they are hungry but instead able bodied young people who are stealing for weed money. Have they ever considered getting a job? Then people say "it's not that easy for some people" which is BS.

California should outsource their corrections department to Singapore. A man can change, sometimes they need a little help.

You should be able to leave that with the doors unlocked and not have to worry about it.

They need a separate sign for University of San Francisco students telling them not to leave valuables in their dorm room. Don't care how gated that community is.
