Why do Republicans like losers and losing so much? Is it an addiction or something?

Look at the bright side - it means she won't be Trump's VP, which would have been awful
Gallego likely has that seat locked up. I remember reading, not too long ago, that Mitch himself said that the Senate seats they're looking to flip are in West Virginia, Montana, Ohio, and PA. He specifically said that Arizona and Nevada are long shots for the GOP (WI and MI too)
So the Repubs themselves know they won't take AZ's Senate seat. Sinema is a moderate Dem who appeals to the McCain maverick bunch: she will take votes from whomever runs as a Republican
The bigger concern about Kari Lake for Senate is that she might hurt downballot Repubs and even the presidential candidate: Martha McSally might have hurt Trump in 2020
