Everything sucks when you don’t have friends to enjoy it with

It’s 100% cops when people say it’s fine to eat alone, movies alone, drink alone etc.

It’s way better when you’re out with friends.

Sucks cause I used to have friends and now I don’t so I know what I miss out on now.

I’m so lonely, Miscer Lonely!!

There's the ticket.

Learn how to play D&D or magic or something.

You can make good friends that way.

I spend a few months traveling the world by myself each year. As a person who is somewhat introverted, it's undoubtedly a much better time when you have a crew of people to do things with as opposed to when I have those random periods where I'm not feeling social or changing locations and doing things by myself for a handful of days.

However, when I'm back in the US I honestly find most people fuking obnoxious nowadays. I'm not sure if it's because I've overloaded my dopamine receptors doing a bunch of cool things outside of the country, but people in the US generally don't seem to provide much value to me nowadays. After I spend time with people, I generally feel much worse and everybody has some type of bad anxiety and/or just isn't an interesting person to be around.

Maybe the problem isn't them but you? Ever consider that?

I prefer doing things with friends, but most of my friends complain that the things I want to do or places I want to go are too expensive, so I end up going alone. I only have one friend that is down to go to expensive places but he's always busy.

It’s awful. You go in the city and you see everyone with their crew and you’re alone. Makes you stick out. No idea how you can even change this.

So I'm at a point in my life where everything is 100% optional and I have absolutely no FOMO about anything. If I want to do something, I do it. If I don't want to do something, I avoid it.

Obviously I still keep up relationships with longtime friends, but I'm not sure if it's the economy slowing down or what, but most people just aren't very interesting right now. I'm not saying it's a bad time to enjoy their company and catch up, but there just isn't very much to get excited about with them.

I also don't mind doing things alone and generally am pretty good at making friends, so often I'd rather go out alone and try to make something of it than going out with poeple I already know who are kinda boring.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing to have expectations when it comes to who you hang out with. That's actually a good thing. Just don't let a little thing like money and success make you start looking down on those who may be just as good of a man as you are but just didn't climb the ladder as high.

No it isn't, srs.

It's actually better to learn how to enjoy your own company before making friends. "Friend" seems to be a loosely used term these days. Some will hang around people they don't even like that much just to avoid being alone.

Just like those people who can't stay single.

Lol, my friends literally come from all walks of life. I chill with 21 year old bartenders, 35 year old drug dealers, 40 year old conservative married couples in lucrative careers who live in the suburbs and have young children. 35 year old black guys who I travel to other countries with, etc.

There are few people in their late 30s who have as diverse group of friends as I do.

Why don’t you have friends OP? You haven’t kept in touch with anyone from school or made friends at any of the places you work?

I don’t understand people that don’t have friends, not trying to knock you, but if you just start being friendly to people, it’s easy to make friends. I make friends out ridding my motorcycle that I go riding with all year round..just start talking people up.
