Which one of the two jobs would you rather have?

Just a quick "test".

1st.
Low Stress
Low Responsability
Not Much regular Study Required
You can pretend you know... no one gonna catch you.
9am to 5pm
80k/year
"Light" working environment
Respectable? ... "Meh"
You know you could reach more but... I mean... its a confortable job and the salary is not bad.

2nd.
High Stress
High Responsability
Regular Study Required
You really have to know or it can be catastrophic.
No routine schedule
120k/year
Tense working environment
Very respected job
You know you reached you full potential (not talking about money... talking about what the job means to you).

The difference after taxes between $80k and $120k isn't worth taking on a nightmare of a job.

1st one because as someone who makes 6 figures, I outright own my luxury vehicle and my mortgage is 90% paid off. I also have a fat girlfriend.

Personally I would chose the 2nd one just because I couldn't stand the fact I would have a job that wouldn't mean **** for me.

Nothing wrong with that.

However a sense of meaning, or purpose can be found without everything listed in the 2nd job.

IMO the correct answer is option 1.5. Take the stress, responsibility. Keep hours closer to 40, with a schedule. Make 100k.

Ideally any job where you accomplish something. Actually make a change for the better.

Some enjoy just skidding through life frolicking and only caring about fun and material things.

Fun is great life is too short not tk have those moments but you can't have fun all the time and material things are nice. Up to a point but you can't take anything with you. Not anything material anyways.

The only thing we can take with us when we die is that which we leave behind guys and what do we leave behind? Our name and the differences we made in this life and on this planet.

I know if I was on my death bed at 80 years old reflecting. I would much rather have memories of doing good for those who deserved it and making a change in their life than I would looking at pictures of my Mercedes or Lamborghini.

But everyone's idea of happiness is different

Life is too short to take work that seriously. That was my problem when I was in the military, as I was more focused on banging sloots and working out. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

Not talking about money there.

Talking about the job and what it means to you.

Lets say a guy that wanted to be a surgeon since kid. Now he is a surgeon (which can be the job #2 in the example). He certainly could be making more BUT the job has meaning to him.

Now lets say the same guy, that wanted to be a surgeon, is a well payed Personal Trainer (fits the job #1). He is comfortable... but thats not what he really wanted.

Being a Navy Seal, for example, could be "reaching full potential" if you dreamed about being it (and the salary would be low).

Depending on the job/own business and work ethic you can have both. #2 job + business. At least in the begining.
