This has been going on for a while. There's some pics of JP 2 and Benedict doing this in that ghey Paul VI audience hall, altho Francis takes it to another level of clownery. Edit: I mean he had a troupe of the circus giving a show for him, it's not all that gay really.
At the end of the day, whatever the pope does, doesn't effect your life. His role is to uphold the faith, which he does for the most part if you give him a charitable reading and don't follow secular media trying to blow what he says out of proportion. Even the latest thing about gay blessings isn't remotely close to what he said, or how a faithful catholic would interpret it.
Them forcing him to do gay PR stuff like this doesn't effect Catholicism. Live your life faithfully, attend the sacraments, support a traditional parish that isn't some gay liberal novus ordo hippy parish, and don't follow the clownshow of modern Rome too much.
