ITT We List Things that Stupid People Believe are High-Class

You boys remember back in the early 2000s? When folks were still wearing Tommy Hilfiger, thinking they were some kind of big shot because of it; completely unaware that Hilfiger was no longer associated with any sort of class or status. In fact, the opposite held true. Hilfiger had become synonymous with the lowest trash of society. Crack addicts & street whores. Well, over the years, I've noticed some other things that have suffered a similar fate. Maybe not to the extent of Tommy Hilfiger, but certainly to a point where it should be obvious to any half-intelligent human being. Here's just a few that spring to mind:

Hardwood Floors
Men's Jewelry (outside of wristwatches)
Expensive Sneakers
Showering multiple times a day
Scented Candles
Casinos
Breadmakers
Sandals
Acrylic Paintings
Plastic Flossers
Eating at Red Lobster
Ice Skating
Going to the barber for a shave

Just a quick list, but there are plenty more out there. Figured you boys would have some stuff to add...

I mean I wouldn’t call them high class but I enjoy casinos and use candles because we have animals and I don’t need my house smelling like wet dog if someone comes over.

Clothing is a massive scam. Much better to spend that Gucci/armani money on quality items that you get tailored for proper fit.

I don’t want to be mean but this looks more like a list of things poor people think people get because it’s high class, but they really just wanted hardwood floors and it wasn’t a life or death decision for them.

Like no one who makes over 100k a year thinks eating at red lobster is high class? Idk boyo sorry.

I was all about Tommy Hilfiger in the 90s. Their jeans and jean shorts were the same price and far superior to Levi’s. Hilfiger relaxed fit jeans were the goat for me, regular jeans were tight in the thighs. I never thought them high end for $30 a pair though. And there’s no way in hell I’d pay $100+ for jeans.

iPhones were already mentioned, but this can also include macbooks, or really any apple product

Airline status - unless you're Delta Diamond or other airlines highest tier it makes a marginal difference.

I guess I didn't present this thread clearly enough for you, skipper. I was simply listing things that stupid people believe are high-class. These are things that may have been high-class at one point, but are no longer (like Tommy Hilfiger) or things that have always been low class, but stupid people still perceive them as being of top status (hardwood floors, eating at Red Lobster/Olive Garden). The theme here is simply "things that stupid people believe are high-class."

I hope this clears up the confusion, Duckliver.

why hardwood floors? What makes them low class? I'd rather have real quality hard wood over carpet or laminate. If not hardwood, then what's high class. Tile? Marble?

Go into any crack house and you'll find hardwood floors, partner. I've rented my share of crappy apartments. Never any carpet. Always hardwood. You know why? Because poor people are typically very messy. Messy, lots of kids, smokers, bad personal hygiene....and they don't deserve carpet. They're too filthy for carpet. Hardwood floors are easy to clean up after being horibly violated by the nastiest people on earth. Understand, hardwood is desired by uppity peckerwoods and no one else.

Non carpet floors are much easier to clean. Rugs hold a lot of dirt, dust, and various other things. (But does feel better on bare feet.)
