I never wanted to watch these because I thought these are movies for children. Then my gf promised I would like them and I gave it a try - turns out, it is one of the best movie series there is!

A slow coming of age story at the beginning that turns really dark and epic at the end. The story and characters are developed slowly and steady throughout the movies.

Cannot recommend it enough, srs!

You have to watch them all in chronological order, everything else doesn't make sense.

They're really hoakie and corny. Then tried to get dark and edgy towards the end.

They're only worth watching for Alan Rickmans performance.

I mean, you could easily knock them all out in 1 week if you wanted to. A couple of days if you just wanted to F around watching movies.

Just start by watching the first one and go from there. If you enjoy it somewhat, you'll probably like the others too.

Feels like it's 2009 or something answering this question lol.

I was never into Harry Potter and still don't really know much about it

That being said, yes, the movies are absolutely worth watching

Don't have heroes; look up to no one. Because as long as someone's leading the way, the best you'll ever be is second.

First couple suck, but they definitely get better. Tbh, would be a million times better if they were rated R and geared toward adults.

I thought overall it was a mediocre series.

That being said, you couldn't even make those movies today. If made today half the cast would have to be black or gay.

So its basically a classic before clown world really got going.

That's actually a very valid criticism of the movies, in how stupid Harry and Ron seemed half the time. Harry comes off as an average at best wizard in terms of raw skill (made it hard to believe he'd be the guy to take down the main villain even though you already knew the outcome from the books), and Ron literally has an IQ of about 75 in the movies. They'd have been much better if they had just written those two characters a bit less dopey.

I think they are worth watching at least once. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was my favorite.

The 5th one, Order of the Phoenix, was the best imo.
