The violence starts with the zionists when they decided on a colonial enterprise and then began using terrorism to increase their land and remove the native population. They had the full support of the British government (after having some significant amount of support from some Ottomans) and then started an openly apartheid regime in 1948. They have not stopped their terrorism since then. Fighting back against that is justified but aggressive brutal violence and terrorism in the name of an evil ideology (Zionism) is not justified.

How else does someone resist oppressive apartheid and terrorism? Letters and speeches? That has not worked for the Palestinians.
