I'm a fan of the Dave Ramsey "1-3 months net pay" idea for this topic. Closer to 1 if you're broke or in debt. Closer to 3 if you have enough liquid to suffice for upcoming goals.

Uh my wifeโ€™s ring cost around the same but I didnโ€™t upgrade it from the 10k ring until we had been married 10 years. And hadnโ€™t got married until together 5.


But like I expect all that stuff just to be married not because I gave her a ring.

I upgrade her rings so she has appropriate bling for her station in life. Itโ€™s like getting fancy furniture even tho the comfy **** from my twenties still worked and was comfy, it was starting to look old and bummy. Dfs.
