Hippie Jesus is propagated by people who take the red biblical quotes out of context - i.e., Jesus says loving one another is important, but only after loving God first and foremost.

Most people take that line out of context and make it out as if Jesus is saying that 'love is love' or something, but the first commandment is to love thy God and to keep the commandments which dictate the laws about sexulity, etc.

its the turn the other cheek quote they use for excusing evil
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’[a] 39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. 40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well.
Im not a bible scholar but this is directly from jesus. I assume there is missing context but this written a lot like a jewish dude wanting to subvert christians...
