Do you expect to see a sit down coffee for less than 6 in a spot that isn’t a dive in Vegas?

That leaves us at 36, so 18 per small sandwich


So like a 4 buck markup on that sandwich for the higher end service vs buffet line and a few bucks extra on the coffee. Maybe if 10 bucks is too much for the upgraded services your friend got he should of kept his ass in the buffet line.

It might look like chit but things like chervil are expensive and pickling shallots etc is all kitchen labor. Ham looks to be sliced daily etc..

Where in Vegas? I was there not too long ago and ate better for much cheaper. Honestly wasn't a fan of the place, being my first time it was just 24/7 degeneracy. I did get my lifetime craving to see it in person, but was disgusted and probably would never go back again in my lifetime. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

He's staying at Encore at Wynn. He said beautiful, clean, and classy. It makes Atlantic City casinos look like a dump.

Inflation maybe slowing, and Biden was happy to say that yesterday, but prices are not dropping to levels seen 3 years ago. That has many concerned.

Didn’t get through the vid but I’m pretty sure I understand the point.

I agree with charging more and paying proper wages like most other countries. Worked just fine when I was working in Paris. Problem is two fold with early adopters.


Public support for it is garbage, people see higher prices and Fukoff to the cheaper spots that ask for tips.

Tom Douglas pioneered this years ago in Seattle for my state. He got hit with a class action lawsuit for distributing the service charge amongst all employees and lost 3 million dollars. So no fukking way am I touching it.

thats not how inflation works lol. prices are not going back to where they were 3 years. free market always sorts these things out, people will either pay for it or they wont. If there is excess supply because people decide x isnt worth $y, then i guarantee the price for x will come down.

Also the direction I’m leaning in food service is smaller spots with counter/bar service to the kitchen. 2 cooks on staff who take orders and cook food and talk directly with the guests in front of them about what the guest is looking for out of his meal and his a more intimate knowledge of things he can do for said guest.

Then a tip jar and an atm machine.

Dead fukking serious. Also no gas lines or equipment (other than refrigeration) just a stone shelf for live fire and a hood.

I got 3 hot dogs, drinks (soda), and like 1 sandwich and it was almost $100. This wasn't at a proper restaurant either, it was some food court style thing. I forget which casino it was, but it was on the strip.

It's cheaper to stick with chains out there now.

Bobby said keep prices the same and just automatically add a mandatory service charge listed separately so customers can see where the extra money is going.

Then I think he’s fukking stupid and we just need to normalize the price it costs to provide the service we offer.

Just like the one time he showed up to a 150 person event with 75 duck confit legs which take days to prep and we had to quick braise 75 Chinese duck legs (that had been prepped) in duck fat for him.

That explains everything. Casinos are massive so they know they have people relatively captured. It's similar if you stay at a resort in some unsafe countries. They know most westerners won't leave the grounds, so they charge $25 for food that's $8 across the street. If you go a mile from the resort it's $4. It can often be the same in touristy areas of safe countries. The best food I had the last time I was in Italy was in random hole in the wall places and cost 1/3rd of the restaurants very close to where most of the hotels (tourist trap restaurants) were situated.

Yeah but I remember the days when casinos made their money on gambling so they kept everything cheap, hotel meals, etc. To keep you coming back and gambling because that's where they made their money. The gambling.
