Walgreens, CVS pharmacy staff nationwide walkout
Do retail pharmacy jobs suck this bad?
Pharmacy staff from Walgreens, other chains could stage nationwide walkout and rallies in coming weeks
Pharmacy staff from Walgreens are laying the groundwork for a nationwide walkout and multiple rallies at the end of October to protest unsatisfactory working conditions, and are in talks with employees from other retail pharmacies about joining them, CNBC has learned.
Those efforts, which are still in the planning stages, reflect the growing discontent among retail pharmacy staff, who have complained for years about having to grapple with understaffed teams and increasing work expectations imposed by corporate management. The Covid pandemic only exacerbated those issues, as new duties like testing and vaccination stretched pharmacists and technicians even thinner.

Imagine having a doctor of pharmacy degree and making change at the drive through window.

Word is retail pharmacy sucks ass, and that the career in general kind of sucks.
I remember once being really interested in that field when I was young. I guess I dodged a bullet by not going that route (I've also always been lazy as fuk when it comes to studying so I likely wouldn't have done well).

I was at a Walgreens for the first time in years a couple days ago. About 70% of the store was non-medical stuff. It's like they want to halfway be Dollar Tree. I was looking for gauze and tape and had to scour the store looking for the first aid section.

More like assistants with a certification through night school. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but they aren't that important.
I'm all for them making more money. The industry makes a killing and those people are handling prescriptions to a certain extent.

One of my most recent dates was with a pharmacist, and all she did was rant about working at CVS and how much CVS sucks. I kept changing the subject to lighter topics but somehow something in the conversation would lead back to ranting about CVS.
At the end of the date she said that she had left CVS about 6 months ago, and "I guess I still haven't gotten over it."
I was like, "U wot m8?"
Either way, I believe her that working at CVS Pharmacy probably sucks and I switched to another pharmacy based on her rants, but holy fook - Didn't call her back even though she was a 7.5/10

I’m fine with the pay (120k), but it is a pretty crappy job. Especially when they staff you so thin. I don’t work retail, just have friends that do

And trust me, I know the difference between the actual pharmacist and the pharmacy techs. When my wife had cancer last year, I was at the pharmacy a hundred times.
And yes, the actual pharmacist is working the window sometimes. It might be just when the others are on break or something, but they definitely do it. And the look in their eyes is soul crushing. Dead srs.

Anyone I've met that's worked in a pharmacy hates their life, generally.
