I had PRK/LASEK.
The reason people choose LASIK over PRK is because PRK has like a 2-3 week healing process(where LASIK is usually good the next day). But LASIK has more potential complications.
I did mine when I was between jobs, so it didn't matter if I couldn't really see for a week or two after. But someone who can't afford to go a few weeks without their vision, it's probably an issue.

But recovery was literal hell.

I did lasik from a Groupon basically (would go with best doctor I could afford now since you only get one chance) but no bad sides. I don’t have perfection vision (I knew before hand that’s a chance but I was still disappointed) it’s way better than it was, I never use glasses or contacts anymore and forgot I had to at one time. It’s been five years, sometimes it’s hard to see at night, my eyes never get dry.
