Yellen: US can afford military support to BOTH Israel and Ukraine
LOL
U.S. can ‘certainly’ afford military support to both Israel and Ukraine, Janet Yellen say
"Asked in an interview with Britain’s Sky News on Monday whether the U.S. could afford to be providing military support to Israel and to Ukraine in its ongoing war with Russia, Yellen said “the answer is absolutely.”
“America can certainly afford to stand with Israel and to support Israel’s military needs and we also can and must support Ukraine in its struggle against Russia,” Yellen said, adding that the U.S. economy is doing “extremely well.”
“Inflation has been high and it’s been a concern to households, it’s come down considerably. At the same time, we have about the strongest labor market we’ve seen in 50 years with 3.8% unemployment. And at the same time, America, the Biden administration, has passed legislation that is strengthening our economy in years to come for the medium-term.”s
Yellen said the need to release funds for both allies was a “priority” and called for Republicans in the House of Representatives to seat a speaker so that legislation can be passed, following the ousting of former speaker Kevin McCarthy.
“We stand with Israel. America has also made clear to Israel, we’re working very closely with the Israelis, that they have a right to defend themselves,” Yellen told Sky News’ Wilfred Frost.

It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

Or better yet we can mind our own damn business and stop getting involved in the rest of the world's problems. All we ever get for it is yelled at by the Euros and everyone else so phuck it. Let's sit this one out and let the chips fall where they may. It's time for the US to stop being the world's police officer and take care of our own first for a change.

As everybody here knows, I didn't vote for Obama and didn't care for him, but I eventually just had to tell them I was there on vacation and didn't care to discuss politics.
But I agree.. We're damned if we do and damned if we don't anyway, so fukem.

Correction govt created a ton of useless new jobs with bullchit spending and private employment is going down the drain.
The only people more dependent on the govt then welfare addicts is govt employees. They actually have the full pressures of the capitalist system preying on their brain.

FML..
QUESTION: “Are the wars in Israel and Ukraine more than the United States can take on at the same time?”
POTUS: “We’re the United States of America for God's sake! The most powerful nation in the history of the world!”

Yellen is a living meme, one of the greatest examples of a zombie brain failing upward, continually. No. Anyone who says we need to fund them needs to do themselves and the world a favor with a length of rope and a strong tree.

When has western Europe ever cared about or given the U.S. proper credit for mopping up what are arguably more their own problems than ours? All we ever get is grief for it. I'm over it, let the Eurocucks start sorting their own issues out for once and worry about ourselves.

Yellen also predicted we wouldn't have any problems with inflation, even though the Federal Reserve bought TRILLIONS in treasuries during the ridiculous Covid panic. If she was intelligent in her youth she has regressed to double digit IQ in old age. Throw the ball to the Eurokunts, let them act like adults for the first time in 75 years.

I think providing aid is the rational choice within the context of our global strategy. What's the point of having the largest military budget on the planet if you're not going to use it to influence the world in a way that benefits you? Getting rid of Russia as a geopolitical threat is good for the US, preserving the mexican standoff in the middle east is good for the US. This is the game we chose to play during the cold war, and chose to never stop playing.
It's like if an NFL team spends a bunch of their salary cap on RBs and interior offensive linemen. A good run game isn't the best strategy but once you've committed your resources to it it's YOUR best strategy and if you don't run the ball you're an idiot.
I get the reservations about sending cash, but sending equipment helps us too...or I'm just biased from working inside the military industrial complex. If you don't think we should do these things then you should be arguing for us to immediately cut military spending by 75%. Otherwise you just get the worst of both worlds.
