Pretty Sure I Just Got Harassed for Masking

I’ve seen a few people mention that others cough exaggeratedly at them when they’re out masking, and I couldn’t even fathom what that was like or who on earth would do that.

Then today, as I was walking out of my University building with my 3M Aura, I was listening to music with a soundproof headset and texting on my phone. As I passed this guy, I hear a very loud cough. Just one, and there’s no way I would be able to hear that through my blasting headset unless he did it extremely loudly.

I decided to keep walking. I wasn’t even sure if that’s what happened, and I sure as hell wasn’t going to turn around and give him a reaction if it did.

I don’t know how to feel. I’m scared. I’m already a small man, I don’t need 6ft plus guys harassing me in broad daylight for my choice to mask. Maybe it’s all in my head? But I have no idea how a normal noise would make it through my headset.
