What are the conditions of the draft?

Would it be both males & females?

Ages between 18-30?


Would criminals go first and if they return after their tour get their sentences dropped?

Would politicians beating the war drum have to have their families get sent first before anyone else?

Not gonna happen. The moment there's wind of something like that happening they'll be the first to know since they all have friends in high places and they'll just send their kids to go live in a Penthouse Suite in ***** (or some other non-extraditable country) until things blow over.

I'm sticking to my guns on this one. If there is a draft it will be a MUCH larger age range and most definitely include women. If they're comfortable raising the age of retirement there's no reason why they wouldn't raise the drafting age requirements from 50 years ago. Hell, they'd probably do it out of necessity since most young people are grossly overweight and ineligible to join even if they wanted to.

I was thinking the other day…..what if we passed a law that required any politician who voted for war to have a child or relative in the military to get drafted. I’ve heard that argument before and it seems legit.

But what if we did that and then the politicians were too RELUCTANT/SCARED to wage war when they should have but they didn’t because they didn’t want their relatives to die?

Both are undesirable outcomes. Maybe the first one more than the second. I don’t fuking know lol.

Only males (females do not sign up for the draft today).

Ages: In the US almost all male U.S. citizens and male immigrants living in the U.S. who are between the ages of 18 and 25 to register for the draft. Let's say they'd take everyone under 30.

Nobody would be released from prison to go to war, but in Russia they did this very thing to non violent criminals.

No politician's kids would be drafted, or any well connected people's kids.

To make such a change, Congress would need to pass legislation that amends the Military Selective Service Act. Any proposed legislation to include women in the draft would go through the standard legislative process, including introduction, committee review, debate, and a vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. In my opinion this would never happen, especially with how unpopular the war would be. Plus kids would be orphaned. Not practical.
