Come on guys is this just a big trolljob in the video game world?

This game is terrible, I forced my way into act 2 towards the end but I can't put anymore hours into a gay vampire simulator that was released broken at launch

I can definitely respect you for being honest, especially around here when it comes to anything that goes against the popular reddit/metacritic take (god forbid)

Looks boring as fuark but they hit that DEI quota so it'll get astroturfed to chit by game journalists and players alike.

Not saying it's a bad game, just looks very dull, plodding, and of all the clips and footage I've seen, seems like it appeals to smug hipsters that post on Reddit.
Saw a clip of all the cats from the game talking all pompous, was lame as fuark. And most of the gameplay seems to be romancing random characters. Wow, how fun, a dating sim.

Nothing that I saw made me want to buy the game. Seems like your typical case of some cringy bullchit being praised by the typical reddit audience. To top it off the gameplay didn't look good at all to me. I mean sure, if you're into those turn based strategy RPG sorta games you might like it, but I think those games are really slow and boring these days, I prefer to have more engaging gameplay.

I didn't like Skyrim, or Witcher 3, so I'm the worst possible person to give Baldur's Gate a shot. But man all I've seen from the game just looks like extensive dialogue trees from self-righteous characters and weird romancing like a man being rooted by a bear.

I also don't get why turn-based has to be boring. Super Mario RPG manage to make their turn-based very engaging with timed hits and that was nearly 30 years ago.

Yeah I mean I have enjoyed games such as Yakuza Like a Dragon which is turn based, it's just that most turn based games get too serious about their attempts at strategy. Probably why I can also enjoy Pokemon games, they never try to be too pretentious. Heck I even enjoy turn based strategy like Advanced Wars, because I enjoy the chess-like nature to them.

BG3 just comes off as your typical tryhard, hardcore redditing gamer bullchit. The fact that it's associated with Dungeons and Dragons says a lot about that as well, lots of your typical e-warrior nerd sort of people are drawn to it. All the hype and praise over that game is basically a perfect reminder of why I ignore gaming site buzz these days.

Game is cringe. I'm into nerdy stuff but gay beastiality fantasy lore is too nerdy even for me.

Then add in turn based? I just can't even see the desire to spend time in something like this at all.
