Kim and Red inspired dinner and baked goods thread.

I’ve been trying new recipes recently and perfecting some old ones.

Whipped Shortbread Cookies. These were delicious, so light and airy.

Way too many goofy steps were included in this recipe. I just did my own things after the first batch.

Peanut Butter Blossoms. Meh…I have a way better peanut butter cookie recipe. These were very crumby

It’s an old 1920s depression era recipe so it’s different than you might think.

It’s like sweetened air. I can’t explain it, you’ll see.

I love using puddings in cookies and cakes. Brings it to a whole new level.

Can you take your shirt off and hold a cookie in front of each nipple, then take the photo but the cookies accidentally fall before the photo is taken?

Chocolate chips scones with orange extract. The best scones I’ve ever eaten-no bull****. I took the time to cut the chilled butter into the flour hnnngggg. These are going to be my last meal if I ever end up on death row.

Cafe Du Monde boxed beignets. Not bad at all as long as you use Domino sugar.

Somebody was having a hard time keeping his paws to himself -_-

For ****s sake keep me out of Cafe Du Monde. I over do it every time.

Mexican Sprinkle cookies—Galletas de grageas.

What makes these these so flavorful is Manteca, pork lard. Might sound weird but it’s amazing

“Restaurant style” Mexican rice.

So flavorful and fluffy.

Toast rice in several table spoons olive oil (If you don’t use enough oil the rice tastes scorched)

Add the rest of the seasoning when the rice is about 3/4 toasted

Toast throughly. Add water, cover immediately, cook 20 minutes. Do not lift the lid.

Remove lid, barely fluff, then immediately flip out into a larger bowl.

This is quick recipe I throw together with what I have on hand.

A better recipe is to sautée Roma tomatos, Hatch chilies, onions, garlic. Blend together until smooth then add to toasted rice. Instead of tomato paste and salas or picate sauce. Either way I found that adding some grape or cherry tomatoes to the rice while toasting really adds a great flavor layer.

What’s important.

-Use at least several tablespoons of oil
-Throughly toast rice
-No peeking
-Fluff slightly then immediately flip out into a large bowl

Chicken piccata. Delicious. I’ll be eating this at least once a week.

Next time I’ll add more parsley and garlic in the flour and tenderize the chicken cutlets. Everything else was 10/10

Has OP posted her ass yet?
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

I’ve only had chicken piccata in restaurants, and I guess it always sucked because I just gave up on it until this recipe and I realized I had everything on hand.
