I used to love Sears back in the day, but even when they were open I don't remember how long it has been since I bought anything from them.

That store had only been decommissioned about a year and was pretty nice, not to hard to recommission. The one near me, that I went to and even worked at, was falling apart a long time ago, escalator didn't work for years and the last two it was open the AC didn't work. It was hot in there in the summer.

Used to be the goat appliance store. I bought my first washer and dryer there. They probably had 60-70 to choose from and real sales people there to answer questions.

If Sears was smart they would focus on an online store with lots of special offerings of store brand Items like they had in their glory years of the Sears Catalog.

they used to have lots of great store brand items that were only available through them...this is the kind of new future of marketing.

I don't think so , their target audience is the same as trader joes and Ikea type shoppers...they gladly pay a little extra for the specific brands they like....if you build a brand loyalty with a few key products you grow the rest of the brand.

remember my family going there sometimes. they had everything...tools, clothes, shoes, sporting goods, electronics, eye center, pictures, tires and installation, lawnmowers and more.

Sears was actually an awesome store back in the day.

Their problem was when they started trying to run stores with about a dozen different departments all big enough to be their own mini outlets with about 2 employees total per shift. Made it legitimately impossible to shop there. You could never find any help in a Sears for the last 15 years or so it was around. I'm honestly surprised they lasted as long as they did operating like that.

B4 home depot and Walmart, Sears was the place

This is a result of poor business decisions

Walmart and home depot have made adjustments to compete with Amazon

Sears does this

They still don't get it

Kinda sad actually ,the best alignment guy around was at Sears for me

Now he's at a dealership

I have some craftsman stuff still in my box from when I was in highschool and its quality is as good as current snapon.
