Remake was so fukkin good.

No excuse for the people on the fence or didn't buy it back then to try it out now. Funny thing is after the Remake I really wanted to play deadpspace 2 on gamepass, but fuk that lmao, I'm going to patiently wait until they remake the second game.

I do hope the remakes for 2 and 3, if it even happens is reworked to include more horror elements and play more like the first game.

No idea man. I was too much of a pussy to continue playing dead space on the 360 ... Noped out after the 3rd jump scare.

So the remake was my first proper entry into the game and finishing it. From what I've seen and read, seems like the series went steadily downhill with each release, until the third game where they completely lost the plot and turned it into a typical third person shooter.

Best game to hit gamepass since Halo Infinite. Actually mirin for once.

I have Dead Space on backlog but it's coming up after BG3. Really excited to play, never tried the original and it looks more terrifying than RE4 and even Village which was my limit in terms of horror. Brutal lol

RE4 wasn't really scary though. I think village was a lot scarier than RE4 (RE2 is a definitely more scarier than RE4)

Deadspace is scarier than both village or RE4 IMO, buuuuuut only just a bit scarier than Village.

I played all 3 on easy, but deadspace was a bit more scary lol. I should probably try Alien Isolation though ... People praise that game so much for the horror factor, but I'll only play it on easy lool.

Nah mane, saw part of an Alien Isolation playthrough. Fuk that I'm good.

Yeah RE4 wasn't that scary. The only part that got me good was the dark room when you meet the regenerators. Final battle was scary too. RE2 was definitely worse. So was Village which was probably my favorite of the RE series so far tbh. Has the best balance of action and horror atmosphere with crazy bosses.

Dead Space Remake def has that fukked up atmosphere with the giant dark abandoned station and tight corridors.

RE4 is my top game of all time, but it’s not scary

Evil Within, FEAR, re7-8, and Alien Isolation are scary. And Kraven in Spider-Man 2.

I was stupid to actually buy it at full price on steam when it came out when i have Gamepass. I guess i should wait for MGS master collection to eventually be on there too.

Meh. Problem is you never really know what is coming on gamepass and when. Plus you got to enjoy the game months ago and you also own it. By the time I buy a game these days they usually have a small discount. I'm fine with paying full price but with 3rd party studios I like to wait a good 6 months at least for patches to get the game to the state it was supposed to launch.

Isn't the sole point of a remaster to improve the graphics? Can you educate me on any other reason remasters are made?

Also don't forget, Sony gamers are in a different income class from Xbox gamers. People on Xbox just use it for gamepass due to their limited income. As a Sony guy myself, spending money on a game I want is less of a hassle than wiping my ass.

Not sure I can be bothered playing through this again. This is a Sony fan style remaster, all about graphics, and I'm just not that sort of gamer.

Sony knows their audience, they're the biggest brainwashed consumers next to Apple fanboys.

Identical?

The layout of the entire ship is different and open/interconnected, they added mutliple sidequests (vs none in the original), the guns have different secondary abilities/strengths, every character was fleshed out with more dialogue and quests (vs two lines each in the OG), the main story is changed and even includes a few new twists, Isaac is fully voice acted, there's more suits/offensive options, there's new bosses, and there's NG+ missions/enemies with a secret ending. Thats before we even get into the technical aspects like the 10/10 sound design (the way the sound propagates through hallways, doors, vents, etc is fantastic) or the stripping/damage system for the necromorphs (down through layers of flesh and muscle to get to the brittle bone, and the way it actually impacts the damage you do).

You and Jay have no idea what you're talking about. This isn't that chitty TLOU1 remake. This is a full on RE1 remake style game that makes the original obsolete.

Yeah I figured all this. Dead Space is a full Remake, more like Resident Evil 4 Remake rather than TLOU "remake" (actually remaster 2.0)

Nah gotta hand it to gaypass they actually have a gem of a game for once, DS is peak videogaming. My brain still can't comprehend how one of the biggest creative minds behind DS, went solo and gave us Cucklisto Protocol though. Imagine if the visionary of Half Life 2 was the man behind Redfall. Just doesn't compute.

I played all 3 on easy, but deadspace was a bit more scary lol. I should probably try Alien Isolation though ... People praise that game so much for the horror factor, but I'll only play it on easy lool.
RE4 isn't suppose to be scary tbh, it is more action filled. Only creepy part you should experience are the Regenerators which are probably the best enemies in the entire franchise.

The only truly creepy RE imo was RE1.

If you want to truly **** your pants try the Amnesia: the Bunker, overall all Amnesia games + S O M A are horror filled GOAT

Just fired it up, meh felt nothing especial, very outdated if you played dead space before. Got bored after 30 minutes.

I'm not a fan of 360 gen remakes, they feel really unnecessary and you are playing the same exact game essentially. Remakes of PS1/PS2 era games are a much bigger deal to me, that can really transform the look and feel.
